Cove with reef sections that break on strong NE swells; can be powerful and windy—timing is critical.

Booties for reef; aim for early sessions before wind ramps up; check with local surfers.

Saud Beach

Easy

Beautiful arc of sand with occasional fun peaks on the right swell; more protected than Blue Lagoon.

Bring a longboard/funboard; respect swimmers and resort frontages.

Getting there

10–12 h drive from Manila or fly to Laoag then 2–3 h overland to Pagudpud.
Local trikes between Saud and Blue Lagoon; expect wind exposure.

Where to stay

Saud beachfront inns or Blue Lagoon resorts; Vigan/Laoag for pre/post trip city stays.
