Capas Route (standard)
Easy5–7 km hike (varies by seasonal trailhead) • Minimal to moderate • 1.5–2.5 h hike to crater + same out
4×4 across lahar plains to a seasonal drop‑off; hike along streambeds and sandy paths to the crater rim.
- Start early; strong sun and little shade.
- Trip cancellations can happen due to weather—keep buffer dates.
Getting there
- Commonly via Capas, Tarlac: early start, 4×4 through lahar fields to trailhead.
- Alternative access from Botolan, Zambales (seasonal/operational changes apply).
Where to stay
- Capas/Tarlac City or Angeles/Clark for night before; many operators offer door‑to‑door packages.
